Originally part of Franklin Township and named Bloomington, South Bound Brook was incorporated as a borough in 1907. This borough is home to almost 4,500 residents that live on 0.8 square miles of land.
The South Bound Brook School District is made up of Robert Morris School which educates about 500 students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Students grades nine through twelve attend Bound Brook High School as part of a sending/receiving program.
Interstate 287 is the major roadway that passes through South Bound Brook, making it easy to get in and our of this borough. NJ Transit in South Bound Brook provides service to Midtown Manhattan via the 114 and 117 lines. Service to Newark, NJ is provided by bus line 65 .
