Raritan Borough is right in the heart of Somerset County, New Jersey. This borough is home to 6,300 residents on a 2 square mile area of land hugging the majestic cascades of the Raritan River. Originally a subdivision of Bridgewater, Raritan became an independent borough in 1948.
Students from Raritan attend the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, with the students from Bridgewater Township. One eighth of the students in this district are from Raritan. The primary schools that serve students in kindergarten through grade four include: Adamsville School, Bradley Gardens School, Crim School, Hamilton School, John F. Kennedy School, Milltown School and Van Holten School, educating a combined 3,000 students. Eisenhower Intermediate School and Hillside Intermediate School serve students in grades five and six. Bridgewater – Raritan Middle School educates more than 2,000 students from grades seven to eight. Bridgewater – Raritan High School, serving more than 2,500 students educates the ninth through twelfth graders in the Bridgewater - Raritan area.
