Along with all the children from Hillsborough, students from Millstone also attend school at the 6 elementary schools, and four additional schools in this township. Amsterdam Elementary School educates around 500 students and actually originally built in the middle of a cornfield, but currently surrounds 800 homes. Hillsborough Elementary School, serving more than 550 students is established in the center of town along the border of Route 206. The other four kindergarten through fifth grade schools in Hillsborough are Sunnymead Elementary School, Triangle Elementary School, Woodfern Elementary School, and Woods Road Elementary School, educating close to 1,800 students! The Auten Road Intermediate School serves more then 1,200 students in grades five and six. This school used to be an elementary school but since the amount of children in the other elementary schools was too high, The Auten Road Intermediate School was converted.
Hillsborough Middle School educates students in grades seven and eight, close to 1,000 students in total. Hillsborough High School educates young adults from grades nine to twelve, with an enrollment of over 2200 students.
