Dunellen is a small 1.0 square mile borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Close to 7,000 people reside in Dunellen. The late 1800’s brought industry and population to the area because of the railroad that ran through town.
The Dunellen Public Schools educates students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The kindergarten through fifth grade school, John P. Faber School, has approximately 625 students enrolled. Lincoln Middle School serves almost 174 students sixth through eighth grade and Dunellen High School educates 334 students in grades nine through twelve.
Dunellen sits close to State Highway 28, with Route 22 to the northwest. NJ Transit bus service is provided on the 113 and 114 routes to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. New Jersey Transit also offers train service along the Raritan Line.
