Clinton Township in Hunterdon County has a population of 12,957 as of the United States 2000 Census. Round Valley Reservoir was man-made in the 1960’s out of a ring shaped mountain named Cushetunk Mountain by the Lenape, meaning “place of hogs” after the wild hogs found there.
When it comes to education, Clinton Township's motto is “Children First”. There are three Pre-k through eighth grade schools and a middle school for students in seventh and eighth grade. Children from Lebanon Borough attent the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship. Students in grades nine through twelve attend North Hunterdon High School in Annadale as part of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District. North Hunterdon High School serves students from Bethlehem Township, Clinton Town, Clinton Township, Franklin Township, Lebanon Borough and Union Township.
